Music Makers

Due to my being so uncultured; for sometime now I have believed that my favourite quote [and I don't like quotes] was from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

But no...

When searching it online I found it to be from a poem by Arthur O'Shaughnessy...
Ode from his book Music and Moonlight (1874).

& there is more to it than the first two lines.

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;—
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.

To continue along the same lines, I also favour this poem, but can never remember who it is by. It is my thinking that it may be Billy Childish - but I can never find evidence of this.

It wasn't a white rose in winter,
It was a scrunched up tissue caught in a hawthorne bush,
But somehow, It was better than a rose.

I like how it is all about perception.
Some much of what I do in my everyday life is about how people perceive things.

When searching for this I also came across a Monument to the "Weiße Rose" in front of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

Upon further reading found that:

The  "Weiße Rose" was a non-violent, intellectual resistance group in Nazi Germany, consisting of students from the University of Munich and their philosophy professor. The group became known for an anonymous leaflet and graffiti campaign, lasting from June 1942 until February 1943, that called for active opposition to dictator Adolf Hitler's regime.
The six most recognized members of the group were arrested by the Gestapo and beheaded in 1943. The text of their sixth leaflet was smuggled by Helmuth James Graf von Moltke out of Germany through Scandinavia to the United Kingdom, and in July 1943 copies of it were dropped over Germany by Allied planes, retitled "The Manifesto of the Students of Munich."
Another member, Hans Conrad Leipelt, who helped distribute Leaflet 6 in Hamburg, was executed on January 29, 1945 for his participation.
Today, the members of the White Rose are honoured in Germany amongst its greatest heroes, since they opposed the Third Reich in the face of death.

Col's Car Boot, Himley

Car Boo-tay

Yesterday myself and a friend ambled down to Cols Car Boot in Himley.
50p to get in AND you get called "Bab".

The best thing by far, aside from bagging this glass with a "grouse" on it for 50p [the go-to price for car booters], was to witness the legend that is - "THE MEAT VAN MAN"!

Mesmerising.

MY FIRST EVER BLOG or is it post??

Upon having to post something I decided to review what a blog actually should be - as a starting point. And thought it might be best to fully disclose what this blog will not be [comments in red] before I decide what to post.
So McNeil [2011] gives the following advise about the essentials of blogging:
All About the Traffic
Traffic only means that the content is not that good. However, there are also instances wherein a great blog does not have enough traffic. The key in getting traffic is to come up with a strategy and make everyone notice your blog. There are a few things that you need to consider with regards to generating traffic to your blog and these are not that different from planning a regular Web site. The only exception is that blogs can generate traffic a lot faster. What you only need to consider first is your target audience and where exactly you are generating your blog's traffic.
My audience are not cars. There will be no traffic involved.
The Content
The content of your blog is very important. It is the reason why people visit your blog. Try to make your blog interesting and learn to master the ideas included in your blog. The content should also be relevant and of high value to the audience. Find out what your audience wants and if what you are writing satisfy them. The content is especially important if you are planning sales from your blog. Firstly, you must become a trust-worthy and credible source of information before people try the product. Blogs are excellent medium for sales since they allow you to connect and converse through the use of the content.

You must realize that without a great content, your blog cannot fully achieve power and leverage against others. In order to gain audience for your content, remember not to publish infrequently. Additionally, do not criticize others if you do not have facts to support your claim and references for those facts. If you criticize, do it in an objective non-personal manner. What you can do is to publish often and make sure that the entry you are about to publish is meaningful and of high-value. Lastly, be yourself to help your audience relate to you but do not reveal any private information.
None of the information I post will be in any way reliable. I imagine it will only be of high value to myself or others who understand what I'm like. I have no idea what audiences want but I do not want to target my audience - I come in peace. I do not have anything to sell and I do not want to achieve power or leverage. I mainly want to write about things that are not to do with work and there is not enough space on Twitter.
The Ping
Some bloggers take the extra mile just to ping and do not solely rely on the blog software pings. The blog software pings' job is to update the servers for the purpose of announcing your content updates. Search engines and blog directories then checks these update servers for the latest updates; this is the reason why your blog's content gets into search engines quickly. Pings make blogs excellent search engine optimization tools. There are even instances where it only takes a day before your content gets into search engines. However, your blog's content will only take hours to a few days to get into most search engines, on average.

When starting a blog, always check the instructions included. There might be section wherein you can turn on the blog software ping automatically, which activates on the background. By doing so, whenever you publish content in your blog, it will instantly transmit ping updates. RSS feeds are also important. Not only will you be able to publish your content within a short duration but also replicate your content through the use of your RSS feed. Nowadays, the flow of your content is real-time and the RSS allows you to show your content to a wider audience.
As far as I'm concerned this word should only ever be followed by 'pong'.

Conclusion: Blogging language is weird. I'm just going to write stuff that comes into my head at the time and post pictures that I like / have vague relevance. Right, off to pot some plants [at first I wrote 'plant some pots'] whilst the rain holds out.  I apologize I do not know the correct method for signing off.
